Software Engineer (3-6 years into Java Backend Technologies)

Overview

Software Engineer joining the Worldwide Payment Gateway team to design, develop, test, debug, document and maintain software enhancements and new products using Java backend technologies.

What you'll do

• Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs.
• Interact with product managers and users to define system requirements and necessary modifications.
• Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
• Write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.
• Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
• Train and communicate with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams on systems application.
• Deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences.
• Perform other related duties assigned as needed.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java 8, Spring Framework, Multithreading, Design framework, SQL and Collections.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Object-oriented programming concepts and principles.
• Experience in Web Services, preferably REST APIs (XML, JSON).
• Experience following best Coding, Security, Unit testing and Documentation standards and practices.
• Sound knowledge of SonarQube, Checkmarx and similar tools.
• Experience with Relational Databases, SQL, Oracle and PLSQL.
• Experience on Unix/Linux platform.
• Experience with build management systems like Maven, Gradle and GitHub.
• Excellent knowledge of Agile QA/Dev processes and software development life cycle.
• Be a self-starter.
• Good communication and excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of Springboot and Microservices.
