Overview
The Software Engineer develops, tests, and maintains the NICE CXone software platform. The role works as an individual contributor on complex reporting-based projects within an agile team environment.
What you'll do
- Design and develop NICE CXone products and features across all tiers of the NICE CXone technology.
- Develop and execute unit tests.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Resolve defects encountered during the QA cycle.
- Support the production environment.
- Assist other developers in a team environment utilizing agile development processes.
- Work as an Individual Contributor on complex Reporting based projects.
- Interpret business requirements and discuss them with the technical team and designers.
- Participate in technology evaluations and Proof of Concepts.
- Partner with AI Transformation Leads to deliver software that moves client metrics.
- Operate in cockpit mode by engaging with agents that write code, run tests, open PRs, update tickets, and read and prioritize email across GitHub, Jira, and calendar systems.
- Set the agent-based engineering standard for the team.
- Break hard engineering problems into shippable pieces and get them out the door.
- Make smart trade-offs between elegant code and shipping fast.
- Build AI-powered solutions, including LLMs, agents, and automation.
- Use Continuous Integration/Delivery and Test-Driven Development.
- Influence others, especially in sensitive or complex situations.
- Tackle projects with a can-do attitude.
- Operate within a global environment.
- Work in a complex matrix environment.
What you'll need
- Bachelors in computer science.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Java Developer, web and server side using Java.
- Strong OO design and code skills.
- Expertise in application development using Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring boot, Hibernate, web services standards, and related technologies, including JSON and REST.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-tier web application development.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts.
- Exposure and hands-on experience with Agile framework and DevOps tools.
- Experience with automation at unit and system level using jUnit/TestNG.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience writing integration tests using the Cucumber framework.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery and Test-Driven Development.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others, especially in sensitive or complex situations.
- Great initiative and proven ability to tackle projects with a can-do attitude.
- Proven experience operating within a global environment.
- Comfort working in a complex matrix environment.
- Very strong verbal and written English skills.

- Hybrid NiCE-FLEX model: 2 days working from the office and 3 days of remote work each week.
