Software Engineer

Overview

Software Engineer role within the Measurement & Analytics R&D team of ABB's Corporate Technology Center, developing digital products and software solutions for measurement devices in the Process Automation business, based in Bangalore, India.

What you'll do

• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Analyze software requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing applications.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality.
• Work closely with product managers, architects, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Develop and execute unit tests to ensure software reliability.
• Contribute to performance tuning and memory optimization activities.

What you'll need

• Experienced C/C++ developer with a strong background in the Windows environment, capable of developing Windows-based applications.
• Deep understanding of Windows is essential.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field, from a recognized college or university in India.
• Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience in C/C++ development for Windows-based applications.
• Expertise in developing and maintaining applications in Windows environment and services.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases like Microsoft SQL Server.
• Good knowledge of OS internals and concepts, including multi-process, multi-threaded applications, and cyber security.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills using Visual Studio.

Nice to have

• Linux experience.
