Software Engineer (C++)

Overview

Senior Software Engineer on the TRANSAXpay Payments team, developing and supporting new systems and enhancements to real-time transaction-processing systems based on customer and prospect requirements.

What you'll do

• Develop new functionality in the core TRANSAXpay payments processing platform.
• Perform regression testing to ensure new features do not affect existing functionality.
• Contribute to modernization efforts as systems migrate from data-center-hosted to cloud-hosted services.
• Provide coaching and support to other team members as a Team Leader/Manager.

What you'll need

• 2-5 years of experience as a Technical Lead or Manager.
• Proficiency in C, C++, DDL, SQL, and basic IP networking.
• Ability to translate requirements into well-structured, bug-free code.
• Clear communication skills to work effectively with team members around the world.
• Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking to navigate challenges and resolve issues effectively.
• A proactive, accountable approach: taking ownership, acting early, and delivering great outcomes.
• Ability to act as a mentor for more junior team members, engaging in peer reviews of designs and code.
• Genuine interest in Global Payments' products and the wider payments industry, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of the Payment Card Industry, specifically EMV and UKCA (APACS) standards.
• Experience with security scans, Snyk, Checkmarx, etc.
