Software Engineer I

Overview

Backend Software Engineer I role building key high-impact components of Reputation's AI-powered reputation platform, working hands-on in the code with senior engineers.

What you'll do

• Develop in-depth knowledge of certain components of the product.
• Understand and analyze business requirements and designs provided.
• Assist with technical design.
• Develop software components independently.
• Develop and execute JUnit tests.
• Follow standard process and procedures.
• Identify and resolve software bugs.
• Perform code reviews.
• Test and integrate with other development tasks.
• Collaborate with senior members of the engineering team to create innovative solutions.
• Design, develop and execute software solutions to address business issues.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform.
• Collaborate with peer organisations, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions.
• Interpret business requirements to articulate the business needs to be addressed.
• Troubleshoot code-level problems quickly and efficiently.
• Additional duties as assigned.

What you'll need

• Undergraduate degree (BE / B.Tech / MCA / MSc / MTech) and 2+ years of related experience building software solutions in a corporate or startup engineering environment using Java.
• Experience building highly scalable, high-performance applications.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with an ability to come up with creative solutions to hard problems.
• A deep understanding of web and backend technologies.
• Working knowledge of API design and distributed backend systems.
• Experience with Java, SQL databases, NoSQL databases, microservices, high availability, and scalability.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, continuous integration and operations.
• Experience with functional, performance and stress testing of applications.
