Software Engineer

Overview

Software Engineer focused on designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions using SQL and PostgreSQL.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Build scalable, efficient database solutions with a focus on performance.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize slow-running queries and database workloads.
• Design and implement database schemas for evolving requirements.
• Develop ETL/data processing routines and automate database operations where appropriate.
• Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into database solutions.
• Review and refactor existing SQL code for maintainability and efficiency.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development, database programming, and performance optimization.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL PL/SQL.
• Experience with SQL optimization and database performance tuning.
• Data processing experience and troubleshooting of production database issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GIS/spatial databases such as PostGIS.
• Exposure to cloud database platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD for database deployments.
• Version control experience (Git).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
