Software Engineer

Overview

Software Engineer role at HPE designed as Hybrid, requiring about 2 days per week from an HPE office (Bengaluru). The position is for an entry-level development engineer to lead development of enterprise networking products, including software design, development and test, and support.

What you'll do

• Contribute to end-to-end delivery of software modules/subsystems in a project team.
• Develop reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions within budget and time.
• Collaborate on software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Work with cross-organizational teams (e.g., hardware, firmware, system management, field support, documentation, sales, architects).
• Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with guidelines and standards, and provide feedback.
• Participate in software design, software development and test, customer interaction, and ongoing product support.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience.
• Expertise in enterprise networking products with L2/L3/security protocols and features.
• Experience designing and developing firmware for switches and/or network controllers.
• Strong OS experience including Linux, GreenHills, or VxWorks.
• Expert knowledge in C.
• Knowledge of advanced networking concepts including L2/L3/multicast/IPv6/security and related protocols.
