Overview
Application Consultant responsible for helping customers assess, modernize, design, and deploy business applications. The role translates stakeholder needs into functional and nonfunctional specifications and aligns technology solutions with business outcomes.
What you'll do
- Conduct needs assessments for new applications and upgrades.
- Gather stakeholder requirements and document use cases, traceability, and process flows.
- Translate requirements into functional and nonfunctional specifications.
- Guide application modernization initiatives and packaged-solution selection.
- Collaborate with architects and development teams on design and implementation.
- Consult on compatibility, data conversion, training, and operating-system considerations.
- Plan work while meeting time, cost, and quality targets.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in application development and deployment.
- 5+ years of experience in application migration and modernization.
- 5+ years of experience in application architecture, middleware, and data.
- Knowledge of BI, databases, programming fundamentals, SQL, hardware/software, operating systems, and networking.
- Working knowledge of Agile methods, service architecture, and enterprise cloud integration.
- Ability to influence, collaborate, and build stakeholder, vendor, and cross-functional relationships.
Nice to have
- SaaS application implementation experience with platforms such as Oracle E-Business Suite, NetSuite, Infor, Unit 4, PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud ERP, SAP, or Lawson.
- Experience with application modernization tools such as CAST.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps processes.
- Experience quantifying risks and developing mitigation and remediation strategies.
