Software Engineer II B - GBS IND

Overview

Software Engineer II (GBS India) at BA Continuum India, supporting Bank of America's Global Merchant and Payments Technology team, which builds and maintains payment services such as Zelle, digital wallets, debit card purchases, bill payments, merchant acquiring, remittances and mortgage payments.

What you'll do

• Contribute to story refinement and define requirements.
• Participate in and guide the team in estimating work to deliver a story or requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
• Perform spikes and proofs of concept to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
• Code solutions and unit tests to deliver requirements per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application and business) in design and development of client requirements.
• Assist the team in resolving technical complexities involved in story work.
• Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify test issues or errors, and triage the underlying cause.
• Document and communicate information required for deployment, maintenance, support and business functionality.
• Participate in, contribute to and coach team members in CI/CD delivery and release events, e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge and conflict resolution, release notes.

What you'll need

• Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech).
• 4-6 years of experience.
• Core Java knowledge, Java 17 and above.
• Web services: REST, J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Kafka, XML or JSON.
• JBOSS application server and VS Code, IntelliJ or Eclipse IDE.
• Knowledge of microservice frameworks.
• Knowledge of RDBMS such as Oracle.
• Understanding of coding standards.
• Excellent communication skills to work with global teams.
• Exposure to Agile methodology.

Nice to have

• Good working knowledge of code quality tools (JUnit, SONAR etc.).
• Basic knowledge of code review tools (Crucible, Smartbear etc.).
• Build tools (Maven, ANT etc.).

• Job location: Chennai or Hyderabad.
