Software Engineer II (COBOL/MAINFRAME-SQL, Non-Stop TANDEM)

Overview

Software Engineer II responsible for enhancing and supporting FIS Securities Processing Manager PHASE3, a real-time securities processing system.

What you'll do

• Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and products.
• Define system requirements with product managers and users.
• Write technical specifications from conceptual designs and business requirements.
• Develop, test, and debug applications using current programming languages and technologies.
• Document installation and maintenance procedures.
• Recreate, document, and troubleshoot client issues.
• Support product quality and client needs.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent education, training, or work experience.
• Experience programming in HP Tandem COBOL.
• Basic SQL query knowledge.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a global team.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of HP Tandem utilities, FUP, TACL, Pathway, and Batchcom.
• C++ knowledge.
