Software Engineer II - Data Engineer

Overview

Build and operate scalable backend services, APIs, integrations, data capabilities, and AI-enabled features using Python and cloud technologies. Contribute across the software lifecycle, from design through production.

What you'll do

• Design and build scalable backend services, REST APIs, integrations, and reusable components.
• Develop data ingestion, transformation, service communication, and automation capabilities.
• Contribute to AI-enabled features and responsible AI tool use.
• Apply engineering practices for architecture, performance, security, testing, debugging, and maintainability.
• Deploy and operate services using AWS and CI/CD workflows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, document, and continuously improve services.
• Collaborate through design discussions, code reviews, technical problem-solving, and knowledge sharing.

What you'll need

• 3–5 years of professional experience delivering production software in an agile environment.
• Hands-on experience with Python and backend development.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, or service-oriented applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and deployment or CI/CD practices.
• Working knowledge of software design, testing, debugging, performance optimization, and secure development.
• Experience with SQL databases and Git-based workflows.
• Practical understanding of AI or LLM concepts and clear collaborative communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-intensive applications, ingestion services, distributed systems, or workflow-based solutions.
• Familiarity with containers, infrastructure as code, observability, automated quality practices, or MLOps.
• Exposure to TypeScript, React, LLM integrations, prompt engineering, or retrieval-augmented generation.
