Software Engineer II

Overview

Own development items and bug fixes from design through delivery, working with limited supervision and applying sound engineering practices across coding, unit testing, documentation, impact assessment, and troubleshooting. Partner with QA and cross-functional teammates to develop solutions for simple to moderately complex problems, contribute to use-case development, and support reliable, maintainable software for customers.

What you'll do

• Participate in SDLC estimation and development processes.
• Design solutions to problems and defects with minimal supervision.
• Understand and develop use cases to supplement business cases for technical development items after 18 months.
• Follow standards for coding, documentation, and impact assessments.
• Provide first-level technical troubleshooting and defect remediation for customer-, BA-, and QA-reported problems.
• Develop and present solutions for assigned problems and enhancements of basic to moderate complexity.

What you'll need

• 4-6 years’ experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Highly proficient analytical and critical-thinking skills, commensurate with experience level.
• Highly proficient written and oral English communication skills, commensurate with experience level.
• Highly proficient attention to detail, commensurate with experience level.
• Highly proficient time management, including work planning, prioritization, and organization, commensurate with experience level.
• Ability to work well with others as well as independently.
• Self-starter and quick learner.
• Ability to give and receive feedback in a positive manner.
