Overview
Software Engineer III in an engineering team focused on developing, automating, and scaling network and infrastructure services using software engineering and infrastructure-as-code.
What you'll do
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for infrastructure applications and systems.
- Contribute to design, development, and deployment of complex infrastructure services with quality and performance.
- Lead project execution and delivery by setting and communicating objectives, priorities, and deadlines.
- Participate in design reviews and help design new features for Google Cloud network and systems.
- Review other developers’ code and maintain technical excellence using best practices.
- Build and automate tests for infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Helm.
- Maintain service health and quality using telemetry, perform root-cause analysis, and prevent recurrences.
What you'll need
- 5-7+ years of professional software and infrastructure-as-code development experience.
- Deep expertise in programming languages such as Python, Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub.
- Understanding of software development practices and design patterns.
- Proficiency with GitHub and bug/work tracking systems like JIRA.
- Any public cloud certification.
- 2+ years recent experience triaging incidents or product defects in public cloud platforms.
