Overview
Software Engineer on the Webex Engineering Analytics team, developing data products, streaming applications, and scalable distributed systems for engineering analytics.
What you'll do
- Build and operate Kafka-based streaming applications for ingestion, filtering, enrichment, and replication.
- Develop data processing jobs with Apache Spark and/or Apache Flink.
- Build scalable, high-performance distributed systems end to end.
- Share technical solutions through design reviews, code reviews, proof-of-concepts, and show-and-tell sessions.
- Contribute ideas to technology, algorithms, and products.
- Collaborate with development, test, and cross-technology teams on strategies, plans, and product-focused code.
What you'll need
- M.Tech/M.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a relevant B.Tech/B.E. with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or Codex in design, development, and testing.
- Strong experience with Java, Scala, Golang, or other modern programming technologies.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modeling for analytical workloads.
Nice to have
- Experience with scalable distributed systems, asynchronous task systems, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Trino/Presto, Apache Pinot, Apache Iceberg, Docker, or cloud stacks such as AWS.
