Software Engineer - Mechanical

Overview

Senior Cost Engineer (Mechanical) to support HARMAN profitability and growth through cost engineering, analysis, and business intelligence with suppliers.

What you’ll do

• Analyze supplier quote cost breakdowns.
• Define new RFQ and sourcing cost targets with engineering and sourcing teams.
• Develop best-practice cost references for automotive products down to component level.
• Build supplier relationships to identify best cost/design/process solutions.
• Participate in negotiation events with should-cost activities.
• Define best-cost design solutions and recommend design optimization opportunities.

What you’ll need

• 6+ years of relevant cost engineering experience for mechanical components and systems.
• Engineering automotive mechanical components experience.
• Experience with VA/VE of mechanical components and systems.
• Experience with procurement and advanced manufacturing engineering.
• Ability to break down component costs into constituent costs.
• Demonstrated AI fluency and ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Details

• Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India (Old Mumbai-Pune Rd.).
• Reporting to: Best Cost Analytics, Cost Engineering Lead.
• Work mode: Hybrid, with most office-based roles onsite three days a week.
• Travel: Up to 20% domestic and international travel.
