Software Engineer, Platform - Munich, Germany

Overview

Software Engineer for the Platform team, building and maintaining backend services and APIs (including a public TTS API) for Speechify.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust public and internal backend APIs.
• Oversee the backend API landscape to improve performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions focused on customization and enterprise integrations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.

What you'll need

• Proven backend development experience using TypeScript/Node (required).
• Direct experience with GCP.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Ability to ideate and implement efficiently while prioritizing by urgency and impact.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Proficiency deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.

Details

• Location: Munich, Germany.
• Salary range (Germany): $30,000–$120,000 USD/Year plus bonus and stock depending on experience.
