Overview
Full Stack Software Engineer Technical Leader position on Cisco’s CI/CD Platform team, focused on building and improving a modern CI/CD and release automation platform. The role covers end-to-end ownership of features, development with AI-assisted tools, and ensuring reliable, secure software releases.
What you'll do
- Use AI-assisted development tools across the Agile SDLC from requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Build a full-stack CI/CD platform including pipeline state, release workflows, deployment visibility, and operational control surfaces.
- Develop backend services in Java (Spring Boot) and frontend experiences using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Own features end to end, including unit and end-to-end testing, and review/validate AI-assisted output before shipping.
- Contribute AI-native capabilities such as MCP servers and AI agents for deployment-failure detection, rollback recommendations/automation, and troubleshooting guidance.
- Deploy and operate platform services in production using CI/CD, GitOps, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of proven experience writing professional production code and deploying for large-scale systems.
- 8+ years of experience in full-stack technologies (Java/Spring Boot backend plus React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Experience designing relational data models and APIs for pipeline state, releases, changes, and audit metadata (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent).
- Experience with CI/CD tooling for build, test, artifact publishing, and deployment (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of deployment/release tooling such as Argo CD (GitOps), Ansible (VM-based deployment), and Harness (or equivalent platforms).
- Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
