Software Test Engineer II (Python OR Ruby)

Overview

The Software Test Engineer II creates and maintains automated tests derived from manual test scripts and test cases. The role partners with Engineering teams to contribute to functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and identify potential problems.

What you'll do

• Provide support to Quality Engineering teams in a disciplined agile environment.
• Research, analyze, and document testing findings.
• Test complex API, web, and network/infrastructure applications with database back-end systems.
• Create and maintain automated test cases, execute test suites, and diagnose reported bugs prior to customer release.
• Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test suites through continuous integration.
• Reproduce, debug, isolate problems, and verify fixes.
• Assist with software artifacts such as test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Ruby for writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Experience writing automated tests using BDD frameworks (e.g., Behave).
• Experience with Git version control, including branching, pull request workflows, and managing submodules.
• Experience integrating and troubleshooting automated test suites in pipelines (Jenkins and/or GitLab Runners).
• Practical experience with virtualized environments, particularly VMWare ESXi.
• Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and MacOS, including basic system administration and command-line usage.
