Job description

Overview

As Solution Architect, you will own the technical architecture of the VisioGen platform and build it alongside the team. You will design the system, contribute production code, set engineering standards, and help grow the team that scales the platform across clinics worldwide.

What you'll do

  • Design and evolve the end-to-end architecture of VisioGen, including patient chat, AI response generation, human clinical review, clinic escalation, analytics, and integrations.
  • Build cloud-native .NET Core microservices on Azure, including AKS, App Services/Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB, Entra ID, Key Vault, and API Management.
  • Design for security, multi-tenancy, scale, reliability, performance, and cost across multiple geographies.
  • Convert business and customer requirements into technical solution designs and event-driven frameworks.
  • Document architecture decisions and run design reviews.
  • Drive platform extensibility and integrations with practice-management systems, EHRs/EMRs, WhatsApp, web chat, LINE, Viber, and Facebook Messenger.
  • Ensure release reliability against measurable SLAs/SLOs for quality, uptime, latency, and incident reduction.
  • Design and scale production GenAI pipelines covering RAG, agentic workflows, prompt management, and model routing.
  • Improve AI explainability and accuracy while keeping latency low, and optimize token and AI workload operating costs.
  • Design human-in-the-loop verification with review queues, confidence thresholds, escalation, and audit trails.
  • Make AI-assisted engineering the default and improve the spec-to-operations workflow through coding agents, AI-assisted testing, and code review.
  • Set coding standards, design goodness measurements, testing strategy, and the team's quality bar.
  • Guide and harden the React/TypeScript engagement layer, including patient chat widgets, clinic dashboards, and reviewer consoles.
  • Design plug-and-play integrations using APIs, webhooks, FHIR contracts, and events across clinic websites, EHRs, CRMs, scheduling, and marketing tools.
  • Establish a commercial release process meeting ZEISS software delivery gating requirements.
  • Own CI/CD and environment strategy using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including versioning, feature flags, and safe rollout and rollback.
  • Define release dependencies, branching, and merge strategy, and enable continuous delivery with measurable metrics including DORA.
  • Collaborate with ZEISS Central IT on approved and compliant architecture approaches and partner solutions.
  • Build HIPAA-aligned data flows covering PHI handling, encryption, access control, data retention, and audit logging.
  • Represent the architecture in ZEISS IT, InfoSec, and compliance reviews and produce required data-flow and threat-model documents.
  • Help shape the engineering team's structure, roles, and hiring.
  • Mentor engineers on architecture, distributed systems, and AI engineering, and grow technical leaders.
  • Partner with product to judge feasibility, estimate work, and shape the roadmap.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer success, doctors, clinical operations, engineering, product, IT, and external clinic stakeholders.
  • Act as technical owner during clinic implementations and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Explain technical capabilities and trade-offs to clinicians, business leaders, and other non-technical audiences.

What you'll need

  • 12–20 years in software engineering, including 5+ years designing and scaling distributed systems or SaaS products in production.
  • Deep, recent hands-on experience with .NET Core/C#.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services for building and running production systems.
  • Hands-on GenAI delivery, having personally built and shipped RAG and/or agentic systems to production.
  • Experience with microservices, containers, event-driven services, Kubernetes (AKS preferred), CI/CD, and release management.
  • Practical use of AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering work.
  • A track record of structuring teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with clear examples of hard technical problems solved.

Nice to have

  • Background in product companies, including SaaS, startups, or product-engineering teams, rather than mainly project or outsourcing delivery.
  • React/TypeScript full-stack experience.
  • Healthcare technology experience, including HIPAA, GDPR, PHI, HL7/FHIR, EHR/EMR integration, patient engagement, or clinical workflows.
  • Experience with multi-channel messaging platforms such as WhatsApp Business API, LINE, Viber, and Messenger, or chatbot products.
  • Integration experience with CRMs, scheduling systems, or marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, and Zapier.
  • Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, vector databases, and AI observability tools.
  • Experience working in regulated or gated software release environments such as medical devices, healthcare, or finance.
  • Experience working with US customers or global teams.

Details

  • Location: Bangalore.
  • The role includes architecture, coding, code reviews, proofs of concept, and technical leadership.
  • The role acts as a bridge between business teams, product teams, engineering, IT, customer success, and external clinic partners.
  • The role includes clinic implementations and post-go-live stabilization.
  • The architecture must support HIPAA/GDPR and global readiness as applicable, including PHI protection at rest and in transit.
