Solutions Engineer

Overview

Serve as a Solutions Engineer supporting US Commercial customers by blending business requirements with technology solutions, leading technical engagements, partnering with Sales Account Executives, and driving customer success and sales outcomes.

What you'll do

• Act as the “CTO” for assigned accounts by leading technical engagements and driving strategic direction.
• Partner with the Sales Account Executive, who acts as the “CIO,” to listen, learn, and solve complex customer challenges.
• Propose technology solutions that meet customer needs, hit business targets, and retire quota.
• Maintain expertise across Routing, Switching, Security, Data Center, and Collaboration.
• Participate in quarterly learning and certifications to continuously evolve technical skills.
• Share technology affinities and help others within US Commercial.
• Meet and exceed sales goals.
• Ensure procured technology is successfully adopted and performs as expected.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers.
• Balance internal and external demands through effective time management.
• Use the assigned AI Agent to automate time-consuming tasks and focus on critical, high-impact goals.

What you'll need

• Deep Routing and Switching knowledge, including strong SASE, SDWAN, BGP, OSPF, and VXLAN Fabric technologies, deployment, architectural, and operational knowledge.
• 3+ years or more of previous sales engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel to meet customers where they are.
• A baseline understanding of Zero Trust and the ability to talk through key aspects of it.
• A broad understanding of Voice and Collaboration solutions and how they interact with campus, Data Center, and WAN architectures.
• Understanding of APIs and how they are used in automation for operations improvements.

Nice to have

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Deep-dive skills in Routing, Switching, Security, and Data Center.
• Experience in US Commercial sector sales and the ability to lead a room.
• Experience dealing with Enterprise Architectures with a high degree of complexity.
• CCNP and CCIE in Routing/Switching, Security, or Data Center, either single or multiple certifications.
• Living in Norfolk or Virginia Beach.
