Overview
The Voice Engineer will maintain voice infrastructure, including SBC and Broadworks systems, across data centers. The role supports telecom IT infrastructure, network monitoring, compliance, troubleshooting and service operations.
What you'll do
- Create Broadworks and SBC configurations complying with Global Security and Compliance Standards.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of network resources and key processes, review logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.
- Build, maintain and troubleshoot MS SQL and Oracle databases.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows, ESX and Linux servers.
- Manage hardware EOL/EOS and prepare mitigation plans.
- Apply operating system updates, patches and configuration changes.
- Work with vendors providing VoIP network components, staying abreast of new VoIP components and features that could benefit existing or future customers.
- Interact with inter- and intra-departmental peer groups to cooperatively achieve results in assigned tasks.
- Apply VoIP security platforms and support Robocalls mitigation, STIR/SHAKEN and VoIP troubleshooting tools.
- Manage Voice Traffic and Translation, including LERG updates and deployments.
- Participate proactively in resolving ServiceNow tickets by taking ownership, resolving and closing tickets with proper detail.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with internal or external customers in written and oral formats.
What you'll need
- A minimum of 4 years' experience working in a like role.
- 5+ years of experience creating Broadworks and SBC configurations complying with Global Security and Compliance Standards.
- Compliance and Vulnerability Management experience.
- Experience with building, maintaining and troubleshooting MS SQL and Oracle databases.
- Experience with tools such as Elastic Search, Thousand Eyes or other similar tools.
- Knowledge of administering and troubleshooting Windows, ESX and Linux servers.
- Knowledge of security compliance and risk management frameworks, such as NIST 800-53, CIS CSC, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS.
- Good experience with ACME/Oracle SBC and BroadSoft Broadworks.
- Solid knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, H323, MGCP and RTP, with codecs knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with VoIP security platforms, Robocalls mitigation, STIR/SHAKEN and VoIP troubleshooting tools.
- Full understanding of LERG updates and deployments.
- Good knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, SFTP, DHCP, LAN, WAN, MPLS, Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls.
- Good knowledge of Linux and VMware technologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with internal or external customers in written and oral formats.
