Spanish Localization QA Tester / Proofreader

Overview

Spanish Localization QA Tester / Proofreader role on a long-term (no end date) contract, reviewing and refining localized Spanish content and testing products for linguistic and functional issues.

What you'll do

• Review and refine localized content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting, and cultural or contextual accuracy.
• Execute test cases on products and follow testing instructions accurately.
• Identify localization bugs and report them through internal bug-tracking systems using best practices.
• Verify that implemented fixes have been resolved correctly.
• Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
• Explore user interfaces to identify localization or functional issues.
• Occasionally translate content from English into Spanish.
• Research and resolve linguistic questions as subject matter expert for Spanish (from Spain).
• Adhere to project quality standards, trademarks, style guides, client checklists and glossaries.
• Troubleshoot basic problems and escalate testing issues.
• Understand and prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
• Complete assigned tasks in a quality and timely manner.

What you'll need

• Native-level Spanish fluency with cultural awareness of Spain.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organized.
• Interest in quality assurance within digital products.
• Ideal background in marketing, journalism, copy editing, proofreading, writing, translation, and/or localization.
