Overview
Support U.S. employers' healthcare benefits strategy and financials through actuarial analysis, financial reporting, model updates and client materials. Work with U.S. consulting and actuarial teams as an individual contributor developing into a lead role, with occasional client presentations, guidance for junior analysts and collaboration with senior colleagues.
What you'll do
- Process, validate and update data in actuarial and financial models, including experience monitoring, reserving and regulatory reporting.
- Prepare and analyze actuarial and financial reports for U.S. health and benefits clients.
- Peer review reports prepared by team members and share observations.
- Liaise with onshore consultants to resolve data or project-related queries.
- Participate in and contribute to special project requirements.
- Support new transitions, documentation and the creation of PMAPs and SOPs.
- Mentor and train team members on process-related queries.
- Complete scope estimates and effort and timeline estimates for projects or consulting tasks.
- Ensure effective utilization of team resources and develop a culture of delivering operational excellence.
What you'll need
- Minimum 3 years of actuarial experience.
- Any graduate degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance or another quantitatively rigorous discipline.
- Passed CS1 and CM1 exams from IAI or IFoA, and preferably 5+ actuarial exams cleared, or equivalent progress toward actuarial qualification from other institutes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpretation skills with attention to numerical accuracy.
- Familiarity with actuarial reserving (IBNP), underwriting analytics or carrier selection frameworks.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Solid project management skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel.
- Comfort preparing PowerPoint deliverables and client reports.
Nice to have
- U.S. health and benefits actuarial experience.
- Practical knowledge of the health and benefits domain, with experience with employer-sponsored healthcare in the U.S. an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team.
- Stakeholder management, mainly with onshore stakeholders.
- Adaptable communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize time effectively and demonstrate quick learning skills.
- Demonstrated experience translating technical analysis into practical client recommendations.
