Specialist, Material Planning-SIOP

Overview

Carrier is hiring a Specialist, Material Planning-SIOP in Gurugram to develop materials planning and sales, inventory and operations planning (SIOP) processes, forecast demand and align production capacity with the business.

What you'll do

• Develop strategies for materials planning and SIOP.
• Develop standardized processes within materials planning and SIOP to optimize business resources and meet customer delivery expectations.
• Develop indicators that give visibility into short- and long-term market trends and demand.
• Identify appropriate demand streams and establish data relationship linkages.
• Work with product development leaders and sales and marketing teams to develop demand forecasts.
• Plan capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations.
• Work with the manufacturing team to develop monthly production volume plans using the business forecast, inventory position, actual customer orders and defined capacity parameters.
• Identify and develop new technologies to improve materials planning and SIOP capability, sustainability and reliability.
• Track appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement.
• Develop processes and plans to improve supply capabilities.
• Establish clear and robust metrics to measure progress through SIOP process improvements.
• Discover data points, build regression models and KPIs, and understand market data.
• Develop and implement statistical forecasting models to predict future market demand, sales trends and customer behavior.
• Use regression analysis to understand relationships between factors and business outcomes.
• Collect, clean and transform large datasets from internal databases, external APIs and public data repositories.
• Engineer relevant features from raw data to improve model performance and extract insights.
• Develop and implement data pipelines for extraction, transformation and loading (ETL).
• Develop and deploy machine learning models, including supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.
• Explore and implement deep learning techniques such as CNNs, RNNs and GANs for complex tasks.
• Train, validate and evaluate machine learning models using appropriate metrics and techniques.
• Monitor model performance over time and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and effectiveness.
• Communicate model findings and insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely.

What you'll need

• University degree or equivalent, with advanced knowledge gained through study and experience.
• Practical to substantial knowledge of Carrier organization, programs or systems, with the ability to make enhancements and leverage them in daily work.
• A minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• 9-10 years of experience as a data scientist.
• Experience with sales, inventory, operations and planning data, and data modeling.
• Experience with AI-Powered Demand Insights, Agentic AI for Supply Chain Actions, AI Skills and Recommendations, Email/Slack/Chat Integration for AI, and Natural Language Query and Reporting.
• Experience with regression models, KPIs, model building and market data.
