Specialist – Procurement

Overview

Specialist – Procurement role at Flex in India, processing purchase orders quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while managing stakeholder service and supplier coordination.

What you'll do

• Issue purchase orders to vendors on time, follow up for order confirmation and coordinate on-time payment to suppliers.
• Coordinate with vendors for actual delivery status of material.
• Complete the Open Purchase Order Report and Shortage Report on time for review.
• Execute core procurement processes efficiently and accurately for assigned products.
• Meet or exceed service levels and inventory targets for assigned products, validated through procurement metrics.
• Coordinate with internal business partners (requestors) and suppliers for purchase order changes.
• Select suppliers for new orders in accordance with approved purchasing strategies.
• Manage the supplier database.
• Identify, recommend and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
• Perform root cause analysis to expedite resolution of service issues.
• Prepare customized reports for analyzing and incorporating process improvements.
• Manage shortage/excess escalations, coordinate and follow through on urgent receipts, past dues, and receiving challenge resolution.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree or Engineering graduate.
• Mandatory knowledge of computer software applications: MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills (mandatory).
• Good analytical skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook.

Nice to have

• 4-8 years of procurement / supply chain experience.
• Experience in order processing, supply chain management, order management, and end-to-end procurement.
• Knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably electronics.
