SQL Developer

Overview

Individual contributor role creating reports for a data-intensive system to documented requirements, following SDLC and standard processes, with responsibility for overseeing and supporting junior developers.

What you'll do

• Understand business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive reports.
• Create and implement design plans.
• Review code work for accuracy and functionality.
• Analyze code regularly.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability in the data presented.
• Delegate tasks to junior team members and/or assist them.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and technology developments.
• Interact with relevant teams and team members to gather requirements, identify relevant data sources, and devise the best approach to presenting information.
• Design and deploy data extraction and transformation (ETL) processes to meet reporting and other business needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

What you'll need

• Degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
• 3-5 years of software development experience.
• 2-4 years of reports/BI experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, for example PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL or MSSQL.
• Good working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
• Fine-tuned analytical skills and very detail oriented.
• Ability to work well with colleagues from different aspects of the work environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ensure quality, compliance and adherence to development methodology.
• Knowledge and understanding of Agile methodology.
• Adept in using tools like JIRA.

Nice to have

• Experience in AWS and/or other cloud technologies.
• Health care domain knowledge.
• Experience in ETL development and/or other coding languages.
