Sr. Application Engineer - Swing Shift

Overview

The Senior Software Engineer will implement and maintain high-quality, robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions using modern software engineering practices. The role collaborates with product, engineering, and support teams and is primarily office-based.

What you'll do

• Code, test, and implement software solutions that meet functional and technical requirements.
• Implement high-performance, loosely coupled services using modern frameworks and patterns.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and deployability.
• Refactor code and uphold high standards for maintainability and readability.
• Stay current on trends in application, cloud, and modern coding practices.
• Define and maintain technical standards and procedures for consistent implementation.
• Collaborate with front-end/back-end engineers to improve user experience.
• Review support requests and identify opportunities to prevent recurring issues.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of IT experience.
• At least 2 years building front-end and/or back-end systems.
• Experience with web frameworks, such as Angular and NodeJS.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, and Agile practices.
• Participation in Agile practices, including Scrum/XP.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong object-oriented design and application of architecture knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with modern web and backend technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality software, write automated tests, and work effectively in Agile teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring and Micronaut.
• Familiarity with laboratory, grading, or operational technology environments is preferred but not required.

• The role is primarily office-based.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally, if needed.
