Sr. Consultant Software Engineer (Java Backend + Gen AI/LLM)

Overview

Sr. Consultant Software Engineer (Java Backend + Gen AI/LLM) for Visa’s B2B Acceptance team, focusing on Business Solutions B2B products.

What you'll do

• Architect, design, code, test, and maintain Visa Business Solutions B2B line of products.
• Lead architecture and design for applications you own and contribute in review sessions.
• Translate functional/non-functional requirements into system designs and component interactions.
• Develop secure, Java/J2EE-compliant code using industry design patterns.
• Create maintainable, high-performance code and collaborate with Development & QA.
• Create documentation and procedures for installation/maintenance and assist operations on production issues.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with an Advanced degree, or 5 years with a PhD, or 12+ years relevant experience.
• Experience using Eclipse/MyEclipse or JetBrains IntelliJ or similar Java IDE(s.
• Hands-on experience designing and integrating GenAI/LLM-based solutions (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Vertex AI).
• Deep understanding of vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and model optimization techniques.
• Extensive experience with Java and Java web frameworks at scale (including Spring and Hibernate).
• Experience with Git/Stash, Maven, and Jenkins.
