Sr Cost Engineer

Overview

Sr Cost Engineer supporting new product introduction (NPI) costing for built-to-print mechanical parts, assemblies, manufacturing processes, and supplier operations.

What you'll do

• Develop should-cost estimates for machined metal, sheet metal, plastic, weldment, and assembly parts.
• Troubleshoot costing challenges involving designs, materials, and processes.
• Review and develop designs to improve manufacturability and assembly.
• Coordinate new product builds during pilot production with manufacturing and product engineers.
• Review engineering drawings and bills of material for costing.
• Address manufacturing cost-reduction challenges.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, production, or industrial engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Alternatively, a related diploma with 7+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.
• Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing and Design for Cost.
• Working knowledge of process planning and BOM management.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of semiconductor or capital equipment manufacturing.
• Statistical process control and production data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of DFMEA.
• Hands-on costing expertise with aPriori.
• Stakeholder management and technical influencing skills.
• Experience designing software with Creo and NX.
