Technical Lead Cost Engineer

Overview

Technical Lead Cost Engineer supporting new product introduction (NPI) costing for complex mechanical parts, assemblies, supplier operations, and manufacturing processes.

What you'll do

• Perform should-costing for complex mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Troubleshoot costing challenges involving designs, materials, and processes.
• Develop costing practices and manufacturability improvements.
• Coordinate pilot-production builds with manufacturing and product engineers.
• Review engineering drawings and bills of materials for costing.
• Conduct teardown and benchmarking analysis for large assemblies.
• Prepare handoff packages for transition to high-volume manufacturing.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, production, or industrial engineering with 8 years of experience.
• Diploma in a related field with 10+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations.
• Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing and Design for Cost.
• Working knowledge of operation method sheets, process planning, and BOM management.
• English communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of semiconductor or capital equipment manufacturing.
• Statistical process control and production data-analysis skills.
• Knowledge of DFMEA.
• Expertise with aPriori costing applications.
• Stakeholder management and technical influencing skills.
