Engineer - Should Cost/Value Engineer

Overview

Engineer role focused on should-cost/value engineering for mechanical parts and manufacturing processes, including cost modeling, benchmarking, and value optimization.

What you'll do

• Drive cost evaluation of mechanical parts using manufacturing process and material understanding.
• Build and update should-cost models using zero-based, parametric cost modeling, and cost benchmarking.
• Use value engineering tools/templates to improve consistency during agile cost sprint execution.
• Perform value engineering activities to reduce/optimize cost using DFM/A.
• Develop cost models for unconventional manufacturing setups for quick reference.
• Create BOMs by tearing down commodity products and identifying materials and processes.
• Present project insights via Microsoft PPT to support supplier negotiations and decisions.

What you'll need

• Engineering degree (or equivalent knowledge) with 3+ years of experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with capability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings including GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAE modeling tools for design/concept generation.
• High-level PC skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering practices and tools in a regulated environment.
