Overview
Architect, Electrical & Electronics for Cepheid (Danaher), responsible for shaping electrical hardware and subsystem architectures for molecular diagnostic products.
What you'll do
- Define electrical hardware architecture and integrate it with mechanical and firmware systems.
- Lead trade-off analyses to influence components, topology, and technology selection.
- Define critical-to-quality/function parameters and quantify performance against requirements.
- Evaluate alternative technologies to advance technical roadmaps for critical subsystems.
- Support diagnostic instruments across the lifecycle for compliance, field issues, yield, and cost optimization.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or related discipline).
- 12+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and development for complex electromechanical products.
- Experience completing product certification for CE marking and electrical compliance standards (IEC 61326-2-6, IEC 61000-3-x, 60601-1-2, IEC 61010-1, FCC Part 15 Subpart B).
- Hands-on proficiency with Cadence, Xpedition, or Altium design tools for schematic design and PCB layout review.
- Experience designing/reviewing analog, digital, mixed-signal, power electronics, data acquisition, and system power-distribution hardware.
- Experience applying risk analysis, FMEA, reliability engineering, integrity analysis, EMI/EMC compliance, and hardware verification.
Nice to have
- Board-level circuit design experience with FPGA-based embedded systems (Verilog/VHDL RTL) for motion control and/or data acquisition.
- Previous electronic hardware development experience for PCR or molecular diagnostic instruments.
