Overview
Seeking a Level 5 AI Engineer to design, develop, evaluate, and deploy AI-enabled workflow capabilities for Process Development.
What you'll do
- Translate scientific and operational needs into actionable AI use cases and workflow solutions.
- Develop agents, automation patterns, retrieval flows, and context engineering approaches.
- Work with product owners to shape backlog, prioritization, release planning, and adoption.
- Create evaluation methods, benchmarks, test sets, acceptance criteria, and evidence packs.
- Document assumptions, data lineage, model/agent behavior, limitations, and validation evidence.
- Provide technical leadership to stakeholders on delivery decisions, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
What you'll need
- Minimum 7 years of related experience in engineering, computer science, data science, applied math, statistics, life sciences, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience building AI, machine learning, generative AI, agentic systems, retrieval-augmented generation, and workflow automation.
- Strong Python programming skills and modern software engineering practices (version control, testing, packaging, documentation, reproducible workflows).
- Experience with experimental data, scientific metadata, and laboratory or process development workflows/data pipelines.
- Experience designing evaluation methods for AI/analytics systems (benchmarks, metrics, error analysis, acceptance criteria).
- Ability to convert ambiguous scientific/operational problems into technical requirements, plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical/process development/manufacturing science/regulated technical environments.
