Overview
The Sr Digital Workplace Engineer implements, manages and continuously improves Microsoft 365 technologies, Intune Suite, Purview, Copilot, endpoint technologies, integrations, automation and agentic AI workflows. This individual-contributor role focuses on hands-on implementation, testing and day-to-day operation within established engineering, architecture and AI governance guardrails.
What you'll do
- Implement, monitor and operate digital workplace technologies, including endpoint hardware, software, services and SaaS tools.
- Integrate digital workplace technologies with identity, security, vulnerability management, IT service and asset management, remote access, backup, directory services and other adjacent technologies.
- Ensure the stability and security of digital workplace technology through endpoint management and timely patching.
- Monitor and report device- and identity-related anomalies to support security operations processes.
- Participate in resolving high-priority outages, troubleshooting efforts and capacity and availability planning sessions.
- Work on digital workplace technology projects.
- Create, publish and communicate knowledgebase articles.
- Assess service and application criticality and automate testing for critical services and applications before patching and upgrading.
- Provide IT support for issues escalated from level 1 or level 2.
- Participate in major incident management to investigate, diagnose and remediate digital workplace technology outages.
- Write and maintain PowerShell, Python or similar scripts, integrations and automation to reduce manual and repetitive work across digital workplace operations.
- Build, test and operate agentic AI workflows using established templates, guardrails and platforms.
- Document and share reusable automation and AI agent patterns through the team knowledge base.
- Research, create proof of concepts and introduce new methods.
- Guide others through problem solving involving technical issues, project impediments or conflicts.
- Guide team delivery based on stakeholder needs and how those needs are supported by the team.
- Own the relevant segment of systems used regularly for business operations and understand related KPIs.
- Question the status quo constructively to identify areas for team improvement.
- Make a regular impact across the entire team.
What you'll need
- 7+ years managing or supporting IT systems and platforms.
- 3+ years implementing digital employee experience (DEX), endpoint management, analytics and automation tools.
- Experience with standard IT operations frameworks, such as ITIL.
- Experience with scripting tools and languages, such as PowerShell, Bash and Python.
- Experience with configuration management, identity and access management, Active Directory, desktop virtualization, collaboration platforms and other cloud-based services.
- Experience implementing modern management of endpoint devices.
- Experience with continuous engineering or other agile methods to keep pace with frequent changes and reduce complexity.
- Ability to write technical documentation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, such as PowerShell, Python or similar, with concrete examples of automation, integration or tooling delivered.
- Working knowledge of agentic AI concepts, including agents, tool or function calling and LLM integration.
- Experience configuring or extending agents on at least one low-code or no-code AI platform within existing organizational guardrails.
Nice to have
- Natural excitement and ability to learn technologies and explain technical issues to a variety of audiences and levels.
- Passion for DEX and awareness of the latest digital trends.
- Experience building a proof-of-concept AI agent or automation using a low-code AI agent platform.
- Interest in or prior participation, as a contributor rather than a lead, in AI enablement initiatives, agentic AI pods or similar cross-functional automation efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
- Microsoft 365, Intune and related certifications.
Details
- Location: Pune.
- Employees must have a high-speed broadband internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps and the ability to set up a wired connection to their home network for remote work.
