Sr Engineer - Target India

Overview

Senior Engineer – Full Stack responsible for developing and supporting scalable applications and services for Target’s Safe & Secure platform, covering access management, safety communications, and crisis management.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and support scalable full-stack applications and services.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, and event-driven services.
• Contribute to system design and architectural discussions.
• Apply API-first design, observability, resiliency, and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support operational improvements.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of software development experience delivering enterprise-scale applications.
• A 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot, Golang, Kafka, REST/GraphQL, and listed databases.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks, preferably React.
• Experience building scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, observability, and operational excellence.
• Strong coding, debugging, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to GenAI/ML ecosystems, Python, LLM integrations, or data engineering concepts.
