Overview
The Sr. Piping Stress Engineer will perform piping stress and support engineering activities for technology projects in association with KBR’s Technology Business Unit at Houston.
What you'll do
- Perform stress and support engineering activities for assigned projects and activities.
- Analyze piping connected to columns, tanks, exchangers, pumps, compressors, reactors and other equipment.
- Analyze and support non-metallic piping such as PTFE, glass and glass-lined piping.
- Perform trunnion calculations, flange leakage calculations and qualification of allowable nozzle loads.
- Resolve technical issues related to stress and supports engineering.
- Prioritize and plan engineering activities and deliverables.
- Design special supports and interact with vendors for springs and expansion joints.
- Conduct stress analysis for piping systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide engineering solutions and support project execution.
- Perform structural analysis of piping components and support structures.
- Review and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs and other relevant project documents.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
- Interface with clients to understand project requirements and deliver engineering solutions.
What you'll need
- Relevant experience of 10-15 years in piping stress analysis.
- Graduate in B.Tech./B.E. (Mechanical).
- Proficiency in industry-standard software for stress analysis, such as Caesar II.
- Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, EN and BS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
