Job description

Overview

Lead product management for AlphaSense's M&A Transactions and Valuations content, owning the content roadmap, collection process and launch of new features for investment professionals.

What you'll do

  • Identify the need by understanding the market and use cases of AlphaSense user personas, and collaborate with Sales and Clients/Users to solicit feedback for new content, functionality or enhancements.
  • Define the roadmap by creating and managing a content roadmap with content leadership, engineering and operations stakeholders, planning costs, benefits, timelines and technology and personpower mix for all content sourcing and in-house generation.
  • Own the content lifecycle by taking ownership of key projects to evaluate and integrate third party or self-sourced proprietary datasets and related features, from initial research through testing, delivery, feedback and ongoing enhancements.
  • Own the content generation process by leading collaboration between content engineering and operations to design the end-to-end data collection process, including building and maintaining taxonomies, balancing technology and personpower, integrity checks and QA.
  • Launch the content by contributing to the successful launch of new features, including internal and external communications, marketing collateral, documentation, training material and client engagement.
  • Own content collection policies as the ultimate owner of content collection methodologies, rules and policies, balancing inbound expert user feedback against process, technology and personpower limitations.
  • Conduct industry and competitive intelligence by tracking industry trends, analyzing competing content sets, and interacting with customers to understand workflows and pain points and document actionable feedback.

What you'll need

  • 10+ years of experience in Product, Content, Operations, or equivalent roles at a financial institution, investment research platform, or market intelligence firm, focused on delivering content, features, analytics and models for front-office investment professionals.
  • 3+ years of experience managing or working closely with a globally distributed content generation operation.
  • Expert knowledge of market data and investment research databases, products and tools (e.g., Fundamentals, Estimates, M&A Transactions data, Ownership data, Market data, Excel plug-in, XML feeds).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a dedicated cross-functional development team of engineers, data experts, QA and scrum master.
  • Thorough understanding of the logic and concepts of relational databases (e.g., SQL).
  • BSc, MSc or MBA with a concentration in finance or economics, or a CFA certification.
  • Demonstrated passion for corporate finance, capital markets, financial analysis and modeling, shown through a buy-side or sell-side analyst role or by managing products, features or data used by investment professionals.
  • A natural enthusiasm for working at the intersection of data, technology and finance.
  • A builder's mindset, having designed, built, launched and managed a marquee product, module or functionality for the investment community, or set the foundation and successfully run an extensive content generation operation.
  • Ability to align diverse, cross-functional teams through clear, persuasive communication and executive-level presentations.
  • Empathic communication, with the ability to listen and identify problems in need of solutions.
  • Highly analytical, tech-savvy and meticulous, with a strong ability to set priorities, manage deadlines and deliver results.

Nice to have

  • Material experience in the financial industry as a front office professional (e.g., research analyst or investment banker) leveraging platforms and content similar to AlphaSense's.
  • Prior experience at a market intelligence or financial research SaaS start-up.
  • Experience using iterative or agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working with distributed teams.

Details

  • Location: New York, New York, United States; Remote - United States.
  • Base compensation range: $159,000 to $200,000 USD, with final offer amounts dependent on factors including candidate experience and expertise. May also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity and a generous benefits program.
