Sr Software Engineer, Application Development

Overview

Sr. Software Development Engineer role focused on IBM mainframe modernization, building and maintaining applications as part of an Agile SCRUM team.

What you'll do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using IBM mainframe and allied technologies.
• Design and implement business requirements into end-to-end solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Provide end-to-end ownership within an Agile SCRUM team, including testing automation and quality aspects.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure increments align with user stories and architecture patterns.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as planning, grooming, product demonstrations, and retrospectives.

What you'll need

• 3-5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, and CICS.
• Experience across application development phases from requirements to deployment.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or cloud environments (especially GCP).
• Experience working in Agile teams using tools like Jira and DevOps.
• Familiarity with databases/DBMS such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server and good understanding of unit testing.
