Overview
As a Senior Specialist Analyst in Gartner’s Forecast and Market Share group, you will analyze vendor trends and create actionable vendor insights through quantitative research. You will help high-tech clients identify growth opportunities, understand technology trends, and navigate evolving market dynamics.
What you'll do
- Contribute to Gartner’s Market Share data and analysis by delivering vendor revenue positions.
- Assess vendor revenue performance, growth rates, mergers and acquisitions, geographic expansion, and other strategic business developments.
- Analyze supply and demand dynamics, macroeconomic indicators, and regulatory factors influencing technology markets.
- Apply Gartner estimation methodology and model individual vendor revenue.
- Contribute to Gartner Forecast data and analysis by assisting with forecast assumptions and storylines.
- Research factors influencing end-user buying behavior, IT vendors’ evolving business models, and the competitive environment.
- Contribute to deliverables including Competitive Landscape, Opportunity Forecast, Emerging Brief, and First Take content.
- Develop insights in the AI space by analyzing competitive dynamics among vendors, evolving products, business models, and strategic advancements.
- Build knowledge of internal and external data assets and enable the team to leverage them for innovative data-driven deliverables.
- Leverage and enable the continuous evolution of AI tools in research deliverables to increase efficiency and strengthen output quality.
- Support and drive process improvement initiatives by streamlining workflows and contributing to best practices.
- Communicate and collaborate with extended stakeholders on publications and initiatives.
- Contribute to developing a vision for the assigned market at local, regional, and global levels.
What you'll need
- BE/B.Tech and MBA with 2-5 years of work experience, or a graduate degree and MBA from leading Tier I & II B-schools, or a postgraduate/graduate qualification with an IT, Maths, Statistics, Finance, or Economics background, including B.Sc., BBA, B.A. Economics, or B.Com.
- A keen interest in IT markets.
- Highly numerate with excellent critical thinking skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp and articulate the fundamentals of a market and its demand and growth drivers.
- Understanding of key technology and macroeconomic trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and a “can do” attitude.
Nice to have
- Experience in technology research.
- Working knowledge of databases such as Factiva, Capital IQ, and Crunchbase.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel.
- Knowledge of conducting structured research leveraging AI tools.
