Job description
Overview
Sr Specialist System Engineering role leading MSP labs automation. Own and evolve automation frameworks, design reusable test and validation patterns, and mentor engineers across mobile packet core automation.
What you'll do
- Own and enhance the GMOP automation framework and ANT-based test automation tooling.
- Develop reusable, modular, environment-aware automation solutions for MSP/proxy and mobile packet core lab environments.
- Create end-to-end test cases, post-validation templates, CLI health checks, and RegEx-based validation logic.
- Analyze vendor procedures and certification requirements to identify automatable activities.
- Generalize release-specific requirements into reusable automation across MSP/proxy and packet core domains.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers in automation, lab certification, and mobile packet core domains.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
- Expert-level experience with 3GPP Mobile Packet Core architecture, interfaces, and call flows for LTE/NSA SGW/PGW and 5G SA SMF/UPF/NRF/MIND/UDR/UDM.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience across mobility infrastructure, services, lab environments, and distributed networked systems.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration knowledge and TCP/IP, UDP/QUIC, SSL/TLS, firewall, NAT/PAT, routing, Ethernet, VLAN, and BGP concepts.
- Experience building reusable automation frameworks using Python, Ansible, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with Azure/Azure DevOps, CI/CD, ADO pipelines, ADO agents/repos, Git branching/tagging strategies, and az CLI in pipelines.
- 3+ years of experience with Regular Expressions and creating CLI health checks, validation templates, and automation scripts.
