Sr. Staff Engineer

Overview

Senior Staff Engineer in Gateway Services, responsible for designing and delivering scalable traffic infrastructure and Service Mesh capabilities.

What you'll do

• Build Service Mesh components with a small engineering team.
• Design traffic management infrastructure using Rust, C++, or Go.
• Architect workload and service management infrastructure.
• Implement enterprise-wide fine-grained traffic control.
• Investigate critical system issues and address root causes.
• Collaborate with Platform teams and technical leaders on extensible solutions.
• Drive engineering and operational excellence.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Technical Lead.
• Experience designing traffic management solutions at scale.
• At least 3 years of experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong experience designing and implementing Service Mesh features with Istio.
• Strong development skills in Go, Rust, or C++.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Understanding of virtual networks, route tables, subnets, and gateways.
• Understanding of modern web application architecture and API design patterns.
• Experience leading large-scale services for complex business offerings.
