Overview
Lead system-level power architecture, analysis, modeling, optimization, and issue closure for complex SoCs and platforms across the product lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Lead system power architecture from concept development through post-silicon learning closure.
- Translate product use cases, workloads, thermal constraints, and performance KPIs into power requirements.
- Define power states, power islands, gating behavior, wake/sleep flows, operating points, and DVFS policies.
- Develop or guide workload-driven power and performance models and projections.
- Drive cross-IP power optimization across compute, memory, interconnect, firmware, and software.
- Lead technical investigations, root-cause analysis, mitigation planning, and issue closure.
- Correlate pre-silicon estimates with post-silicon measurements and communicate trade-offs and risks.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computing field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, a related master's degree with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of SoC and computer architecture.
- Experience in system power architecture, workload-based power analysis, modeling, projection, or characterization.
- Ability to analyze dynamic and leakage power, utilization, duty cycles, operating points, and thermal effects.
- Ability to lead cross-functional investigations and convert analysis into architecture decisions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with power states, low-power modes, retention, power gating, clock gating, or DVFS.
- Hands-on power/performance modeling, workload characterization, trace analysis, scripting, or large-data analysis.
- Experience correlating pre-silicon models with post-silicon measurements.
- Familiarity with Linux or Android, firmware, device drivers, profiling, or Python and shell automation.
