Overview
Staff Data Analyst for Coupang’s Retail and Selection team, building data strategy and governance to improve selection, pricing, and inventory health.
What you'll do
- Lead projects to improve quality and depth of selection data and ensure “source of truth” reliability.
- Architect and maintain ETL processes integrating market, vendor, and customer demand signals.
- Use LLMs and prompt engineering to automate catalog categorization and extract insights from unstructured vendor data.
- Own and evolve the Retail Team Knowledge Base with centralized, searchable technical documentation.
- Support business onboarding with training and self-service dashboards for business users.
- Build decision models for SKU rationalization, automated replenishment, and benchmarking.
- Run simulations to predict selection-change impact on retention and long-term profitability.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of relevant data analytics or business intelligence experience.
- Expert proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Expert proficiency in Python and/or R for data extraction and manipulation.
- Practical experience with prompt engineering and generative AI tools for data problems.
- Mastery of data storytelling using PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Business-level English fluency and ability to teach/onboard non-technical business users.
Nice to have
- Experience with GitHub version control and Airflow (or similar) workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience managing internal wikis (Confluence/Notion) or building structured knowledge bases.
- Prior experience in retail, e-commerce selection management, or demand forecasting.
- Strong statistics and ML knowledge (e.g., elasticity modeling, clustering for segmentation).
