Staff Data Scientist, Applied Science

Overview

Staff Data Scientist, Applied Science will guide an experimentation platform team to build statistically correct online experimentation capabilities and an AI experimentation backend and experience.

What you'll do

• Co-design a new AI experimentation experience and its backend.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to find opportunities and build algorithms/methodologies.
• Develop and integrate experiment analysis techniques (e.g., variance reduction, quantile treatment effect, cross-experiment analysis).
• Enhance online experimentation capabilities (including hierarchical experimentation, guardrails, and new experiment designs).
• Engage technology partners to build, prototype, and validate scalable tools end to end.
• Deliver independent projects and provide technical guidance/mentorship and code/design reviews.

What you'll need

• MS or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Informatics).
• Expertise in statistics for experimental design and analysis, including bias and variance.
• Fluency in at least one programming language and capability with AI software engineering tools.
• Ability to establish requirements and design a new system for a broad set of users.
• 3+ years in a role with substantial technical leadership.
