Staff Engineer

Overview

Hands-on Staff Engineer to drive technical excellence and own the technology roadmap for key OTA services.

What you'll do

• Provide architectural oversight and review designs for services, APIs, and data flows.
• Design and implement robust, scalable, secure backend services.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvements.
• Own end-to-end delivery including monitoring and support.
• Partner with Product, DevOps, QA, and stakeholders to align priorities and delivery timelines.
• Own and evolve the team’s technology roadmap, evaluating new tools and architectural patterns.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of backend development experience with at least 3 years in leadership or senior architect roles.
• Expertise in Java (Spring Boot) or equivalent backend stacks (Nodejs, Go, Python, etc.).
• Track record of designing and operating microservices at scale (REST APIs, event-driven architectures).
• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Excellent debugging skills for complex distributed system issues.
• Ability to mentor and grow engineering teams.
