Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer on the Application Engineering team, leading architecture and delivery of scalable distributed applications for healthcare technology.

What you'll do

• Define and drive architecture for large-scale distributed application systems.
• Ensure solutions are secure, performant, maintainable, and compliant with NCQA, CMS, and payer requirements.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, testing, release management, and observability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern frameworks (e.g., Python, TypeScript/React, Java/Kotlin).
• Lead development of core features and APIs impacting providers, payers, and patients.
• Embed automated testing, monitoring, and release safeguards into the development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers via design reviews, deep-dives, and incident retrospectives.

What you'll need

• 13+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3+ years in a staff/principal/lead role.
• Experience designing and scaling distributed, cloud-native applications.
• Strong background in Python, Java, or TypeScript/React.
• Proven record driving system architecture, technical strategy, and execution.
• Demonstrated success mentoring and growing engineering talent.
