Staff+ Software Engineer, Identity & Access Controls

Overview

Build identity verification, access management, monitoring, and enforcement tooling for Anthropic’s trusted access programs.

What you'll do

• Build identity verification and vetting systems (KYC/KYB) for individual and business customers.
• Design access control to grant, scope, and revoke advanced model capability access for approved use cases.
• Configure safety systems and detection thresholds on a per-customer basis for trusted access programs.
• Develop monitoring to detect misuse and tooling for enforcement actions.
• Detect and remediate account takeover.
• Integrate with third-party identity verification and data enrichment vendors.
• Create monitoring dashboards, alerts, and internal admin tooling.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable experience.
• Experience building and operating backend systems in production.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Care about the societal impacts of AI and making powerful systems safer.

Details

• Location-based hybrid policy: expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time.
