Staff SW Engineer (7-10 years exp, Java/Python, RAG, GenAI Development)

Overview

Staff Software Engineer for Visa’s VAS Innovation team, building and integrating software solutions including generative AI and modern integration patterns.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement innovative software solutions including generative AI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate emerging technologies with existing platforms.
• Design and develop APIs for Value-Added Services applications, platforms, and solutions.
• Modernize core platform technology and participate in a modernization roadmap.
• Assess and improve technology stacks, development processes, and methodologies.
• Support incident/change/problem management and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Automate software development, testing, and deployment processes.

What you'll need

• 7-10 years of relevant work experience (with a Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree).
• Expert-level skills in Java or Python.
• Experience building generative AI applications including conversational AI and RAG architectures.
• In-depth understanding of NLP concepts including tokenization and word embeddings.
• Experience with Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes for build/deployment systems.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and best practices for ML model deployment.
• Ability to work with large datasets and perform exploratory data analysis.
