Overview
Senior individual contributor role to shape and operationalize OpenAI’s compute strategy across compute supply, demand, infrastructure, partnerships, and commercial strategy.
What you'll do
- Partner with compute leadership to define and operationalize long-term compute strategy.
- Synthesize compute requirements, supply constraints, demand forecasts, and strategic priorities for planning and investment decisions.
- Develop frameworks to assess compute availability, supply risk, investment tradeoffs, and long-term positioning.
- Design and operate cross-functional planning mechanisms and executive decision support mechanisms for Industrial Compute.
- Develop metrics, KPIs, and analytical frameworks for visibility into compute performance and emerging constraints.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with ambiguous ownership, translating priorities into plans and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Partnerships to shape and execute strategic compute transactions and commercial decisions.
What you'll need
- Significant experience in strategy, strategic operations, business operations, management consulting, corporate development, infrastructure strategy, or a similarly high-impact strategic function.
- Experience operating as a senior individual contributor across complex, company-level initiatives with significant ambiguity and cross-functional dependencies.
- Strong understanding of cloud, compute infrastructure, data centers, AI infrastructure, or large-scale technology ecosystems and their commercial dynamics.
- Ability to develop long-range strategies connecting market dynamics, technical constraints, financial considerations, and organizational capabilities.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to turn complex and incomplete information into clear recommendations and decisions.
- Commercial judgment evaluating partnerships, vendor relationships, pricing structures, capacity commitments, investments, or strategic transactions.
- Strong executive communication skills to synthesize complex technical and business topics into clear narratives and decision points.
