Overview

Engineering Manager for Anthropic’s performance and scaling teams, focused on improving the efficiency and scalability of inference and training systems.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering efforts to improve model performance and scale inference and training systems.
• Remove bottlenecks in the team’s work to maximize system efficiency.
• Provide day-to-day execution management for the team’s projects.
• Prioritize team work and manage execution in a fast-paced environment.
• Coach and support reports in their professional growth.
• Use knowledge of the technical stack to make targeted individual-contributor contributions.
• Maintain understanding of technical work and its implications for AI safety.

What you'll need

• 1+ years of management experience in a technical environment, particularly performance or distributed systems.
• Background in machine learning, AI, or a related technical field.
• Interest in safe development of advanced AI systems.
• Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.
• Fast learning ability to understand and contribute to complex technical discussions.

Details

• Location policy: hybrid; staff expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
